Introduction
Atlantic (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. We operate from India and aim to follow privacy rules that apply to our users, including laws in India and elsewhere where they reach us. This Privacy Policy describes what information the Atlantic personal finance app (“the App”) processes, why we process it, and the choices you have. It reflects how the App works as of the date shown under Last Updated. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
Data controller / operator: Atlantic Finance (Scribble Minds), India. For privacy requests, contact admin@scribbleminds.com.
Subscriptions and Billing
Atlantic is offered as a subscription. Price, billing period, and renewal details are shown on the App Store before you subscribe. Apple handles payment processing, and we do not store your full card number.
You manage, change, or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account (Settings → Subscriptions or the App Store), following Apple’s rules. Free trials or introductory offers, if any, are described on the App Store listing.
We receive only the subscription status information needed to unlock paid features.
Information We Collect
We collect and store the types of information below only as needed to run the App. We do not sell your personal or financial information.
- App Store and subscriptions: Payment for your subscription is handled by Apple.
- Account and sign-in: If you create an account, you sign in with email and password. Your password is handled securely and is not stored in plain text.
- Profile: You may provide a display name and an optional emoji. An optional profile image may be stored in the App’s private storage on the device; profile-related data may sync when you are signed in as part of your saved preferences.
- Financial and organizing data you enter: Whatever you add in the App—such as transactions, accounts, transfers, budgets, categories, tags, payees, recurring items, and reminders—along with related details you choose to save.
- Optional engagement: If you use optional goals or rewards-style features, related progress may be stored and synced with your account when you sign in, similar to other preferences.
- App preferences: Choices you make in Settings, such as appearance, accent color, currency, calendar options, reminders, and how lists are sorted. Some of these sync when you are signed in.
- Product analytics (not for ads): We collect limited usage information (such as screens viewed and feature usage) to improve reliability and product quality. This is not used for advertising or selling your financial data.
- Payee logos: If you use payee logos, the app may request logo images based on business website domains.
- Voice input: If you use dictation, Apple processes your speech under Apple’s rules and privacy policy.
We do not use your phone’s advertising ID for sync. Your cloud data is linked to your app account.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Run the App—transactions, balances, budgets, categories, tags, payees, recurring entries, and what you see on Dashboard, Transactions, Budgets, and Settings.
- Keep your information up to date across devices when you are signed in.
- Sign you in and keep your session secure.
- Send optional reminders on your device if you turn them on (these are scheduled on your phone; we do not need your transaction text on a server for that).
- Understand how the App is used and improve reliability-not for selling your financial data or showing ads.
- Fix problems (for example we may learn that a sync failed, without sending your full transaction history).
We do not use your financial information for advertising or sell it to marketers.
Data Storage and Security
On your device
- Your financial information is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad in the App’s private storage.
- Your settings and preferences are stored on the device.
- Sign-in sessions are handled using secure platform-standard methods.
- Optional profile images and cached payee logos are kept in the App’s private area on your device.
In the cloud (when you sign in)
- When sync is enabled, a copy of your data is stored in the cloud so you can use Atlantic across devices. Access controls are used to keep each user’s data separate.
When data is sent over the internet
- It is sent over an encrypted connection.
Limitations
- No app or service can promise perfect security. We use reasonable safeguards, but we cannot guarantee that data will never be accessed without authorization.
Third-Party Services
Apple: Apple provides app distribution, subscriptions, and core iOS services such as notifications and voice features.
Cloud and analytics providers: We use trusted service providers for account sign-in, optional cloud sync, and limited product analytics.
Sign-in in this version uses email and password.
We do not sell your financial data to data brokers or advertisers.
Encryption
Data sent between the app and our services is protected with standard encrypted connections.
Keyboard Extension
Atlantic may offer an optional Atlantic keyboard extension for entering numbers (for example amounts) where the system allows it. The extension runs in the standard keyboard sandbox, does not request “Full Access,” does not read unrelated text you type in other apps for our servers, and is not used to show you ads. It does not create a separate user account. If you enable Full Access in iOS Settings for any keyboard, that is between you and Apple; we design the Atlantic extension to work without it.
App Store Privacy Info
The App Store may show a short privacy summary. This policy is the full explanation of how we handle your data.
Local Notifications, Biometrics, and Speech
Local notifications: If you turn on transaction reminders, the App schedules notifications on your device using Apple’s local notification APIs. Reminder content is prepared on your device; we do not need to send your transaction text to our servers for reminders to fire. You can allow or deny notifications and change them anytime in iOS Settings → Atlantic → Notifications.
Face ID and Touch ID: The App does not use Face ID or Touch ID to unlock Atlantic today. If we add that in the future, we will update this policy.
Voice: If you use dictation, Apple processes your voice under Apple’s privacy policy.
Data Synchronization
When you sign in, Atlantic can keep your information in sync across your devices through cloud storage.
Sync generally happens after you make changes (with a short pause so many quick edits are not sent one by one), when you open the App, when you leave the App, and when changes arrive from another device. The exact timing can depend on your device, network, and whether you are signed in.
Signing out
- Signing out removes your data from this device as the App is built today. A copy of your data may still remain in the cloud until you delete it or delete your account as described below.
Deleting data from the cloud (keep your login)
- Advanced Settings includes an option to delete app data from this device and from your cloud backup while keeping your login account.
Deleting your sign-in account
- In the App, open Settings and scroll to the Danger zone section at the bottom of the sidebar list, then choose Delete account. You must be signed in. This removes only the Atlantic account you are currently signed into—not other people’s accounts.
- Settings → Danger zone → Delete account removes your authentication record and associated cloud data we hold for that user (including synced app data and subscription entitlement information on our systems). It does not cancel an App Store subscription by itself—you manage billing in Apple’s subscription settings. After deletion, the app resets local data on this device.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only where needed:
- With service providers who help us run sign-in, optional cloud sync, and analytics.
- When the law requires it, or to protect rights, safety, or security.
- If the business that owns the App changes hands, your information may transfer under the same kind of protections or with notice.
Analytics is intended to show how features are used (screens, counts, and similar metadata), not to receive a full copy of your transaction history.
Your Rights and Choices
Access and correction: View and edit your data in the App (transactions, accounts, profile in Settings, and more).
Export: From Settings → Export Data you can export transactions only, or export “account data” as five CSV files (accounts, categories, tags, payees, and transactions). Exports use readable names; the transactions CSV may include a transfer pair identifier so transfer legs can be matched. There is no single combined archive.
Delete data from the cloud (keep login): Use Advanced Settings → Delete All Data while signed in (follow the in-app warnings).
Delete your sign-in account: Open Settings, scroll to Danger zone at the bottom of the list, and choose Delete account while signed in. This applies only to the account you are signed into. See Data Synchronization for what is removed from our systems and on your device.
Sign out: Removes data from this device; copies in the cloud may remain until you delete them or delete your account.
Notifications and voice: Change these in Apple’s Settings for the App and for the microphone and speech features.
Questions about analytics or this policy: Use the Contact section below.
Data Retention
While your account is active: We keep your synced data so the App works as you expect.
After sign out: Data on your device is removed as the App works today; a copy may still exist in the cloud until you delete it.
After Delete All Data: We remove your app data from your account and cloud backup, though limited backup copies may remain briefly under provider retention policies.
After Delete account (Danger zone): We intend to remove your sign-in and associated synced data as described under Data Synchronization; limited provider or infrastructure backups may persist for a short time under our providers’ retention rules.
Analytics data may be retained for a limited period under provider policies.
Children's Privacy
Atlantic is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so, contact us and we will take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.
International Data Transfers
We are based in India. Our service providers may store or process data in India, the United States, or other countries. By using the App and signing in, you understand your information may be sent across borders. Do not use the service if your local laws do not allow that.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when the App or the law changes. We will post the updated policy in the App and change the Last Updated date. Material changes may also be surfaced by in-app notice where practical. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the update unless your jurisdiction requires separate consent.
Contact Us
Questions about this policy or your data: email admin@scribbleminds.com, or use the support or feedback channel shown in the App or on our distribution page (e.g. App Store). We will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
